FAILURE

Attempted 26.2, made it about 15, walked home the last mile plus. Just not a good day-my legs ran out of energy. How humiliating...

Don't be discouraged or humiliated, or even consider it a failure. We've all been there before .. just remember that not every day is a good day, you'll be back to run again... http://bit.ly/1alC7Q

:( To be honest, just reading "26 miles" makes me exhausted...

But you know what, I think we ALL have some days like that. Yours just happen to fall on the day you were supposed to be running for 26 miles! You are still awesome :D

RICK! Hang in there, it's not failure. Sometimes our bodies aren't up for it, that's NOT your fault! Food, fatigue, stress...it all has it's place and some days it's just not all there! Hang in there...you always have another long run in you. My husband went out for 20 and came back after 15...that's the way it goes! Chin up.

Hey stranger. You still ran 15 miles and that in and of itself is a success. So you had a bad day... there is always tomorrow. Just be thankful today wasn't race day. Better luck next time.

Not a failure at all. I wish I had seen your post about sending a text earlier, I totally would have done it! When I DNF'd my marathon, the following quote helped me a lot.

"There is no comparison between that which is lost by not succeeding and that which is lost by not trying" Francis Bacon

Better to have the off day now than during your marathon. Hang in there. :)

dude i've been there. we all have. the crappy days will come, but thankfully they are usually outnumbered by good ones.

brush this off. you will still do well in both hartford and nyc. 15 miles is still considered a long run ya know. you must've been reading my blog too much with this negativity ;)

(sorry i missed your post looking for encouraging texts!) :-/

Good grief man...you still ran 15 miles and that in itself is awesome! Not everyone can do this sort of mileage! We can't be perfect everyday and for every run otherwise everyone would be doing these types of things. When you can accept that some days will be bad and some days will be good, that's when you see your progress...hang in there!

As everyone has said, you should NOT be discouraged! We all have days like that . . . they suck, but you get through them and you go on to live another day, tackle another run. Do not fret ;)
