To all of Rick's followers and fans,

My dad had his last final run today. He passed away this morning doing what he loves... running. Please join us in praying for him.

I just now realized that it is Rick that passed away. I was thinking it was Rick's dad. I'm heartbroken. Rick offered me lots of advice last year when I was training for races and then when I was injured. I'm going to miss his encouraging words of wisdom.

My first half marathon on 10/17 is dedicated to him.

Rest in peace Rick.

Rick,
I can't believe this is true. You have filled our lives with laughter, hope and inspiration. Every post left us all giggling and I was just waiting to see you and your wife again in NYC in November. I just can't believe this.
Thanks for being such a wonderful human being. The blogging World will never be the same. We will miss you. Hugs and prayers to your family.
Love,
meg

I was a recent follower but was really inspired by Rick and was always entertained by his posts. I'm not sure if it's appropriate to say I'm glad that he passed away doing something he loved, but I really hope that it works that way for me. I'll wear a ponytail on my next run for him! So sorry for your family's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I am in shock. Rick left one of my first comments. Not sure how he found my blog or maybe I found his first.

Praying for everyone.

Words cannot describe how much it saddens me to hear this news. Rick has given me so many laughs and wonderful memories. He was always so supportive and protective of me . . . I had no doubt he would be there in a heartbeat if I ever needed help. He was honestly one of the most loving, giving and compassionate people I have ever been lucky enough to have "known". The blog world (and the world, in general) just won't be the same without him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all during this difficult time. Rick will be deeply missed.

So sorry to hear this. Rick was one of my very first "followers" with my running blog. And I always loved his comments. He will be missed!

I am so saddened to hear about your loss. Rick seemed like an incredible husband, father, friend and human being in general. He was my first follower and very supportive of me when I had no idea how this whole "blog thing" worked. I was really looking forward to meeting him at a race one day. I hope the memories you have of him help you to get through this difficult time. I will miss his posts and his support greatly.

Rick took me under his wing when I was hospitalized back in May. He flooded me with support to an extent I could never re-pay. I am thankful to have had the pleasure to know him.
