"Ketchup" Time

Is there a Slacker Blogger" award? If so, I graciously accept it. I have blogger writer's block. I've been running, but my runs have been BORING. I still haven't seen roller blading, disco dancing, karaoke singing, linear trail lady. (See my May 20, 2009 post about her). I haven't had any of "Rick's excellent adventures." My latest runs were last Thursday, a 4.1 miler at a very fast for me 8:31 per mile pace; and this past Saturday 6 miles at an 8:44 per mile pace. I'm happy to say I have been meeting my goal of running my splits in under 9 minutes. My P.T. "Sweet Melissa" has continued to work her magic by kneading my left knee. My knee pain hasn't returned, and today she had me spend more time in the gym doing strengthening exercises for my left leg and knee. Thursday I will be "graduating" (as she called it) from P.T. and be on my own to continue stretching and strengthening. I'm seriously considering spending $35/month for at least the next two months to use their gym. It's five minutes from work, it's usually empty or nearly empty when I get out of work, and obviously I know what equipment to use and how to use it there. I won't lie, having "Sweet Melissa" around would be a bonus also. Time to go "ketchup" on your blogs and see what everyone's been up to. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.

Yay for reaching your goal to run your splits under 9 min! I guess it is bitter sweet for you to "graduate"... glad to be done, but sad to not have "Sweet Melissa" kneading your knee anymore...:)

Hitting a goal isn't nothing, so I'd say you're doing just fine! And writer's block hits us all--we won't hold it against you.

$35 a month does not seem like a lot esp. with it being so close to work. I say go for it. Good job on the under 9 minute miles.

Way to go on your splits and your fast run, which by the way IS FAST.

Hi Rick,
You know there I times where I feel like a blogger slacker too:( Life is pretty darn crazy sometimes.

I am so happy to hear that your knee is improving and that you are graduating....as hot chick put it:) This is good news! Also, your runs are awesome and you are keeping a great pace! Take care Rick!

I'm missing your "excellent adventures" but your day to day life is fun too. Truly, I think $35 a month is a great deal, we'd have to pay over $70 here and it's always so crowded! I "relish" your stories about S. Melissa. Hugs!

I've been a slacker for the past week. Work got busy and, then, health took over.

Nice work on the running. You are anything but a slacker when it comes to running.

Nice job on those sub-9 splits. Keep doing whatever it is you are doing because it seems to be working.

I would take advantage of the gym if you can. I love my gym and cross training is a nice break from running.

I am jealous of your pace...great job!! I'm still working on endurance...and avoiding the straggler's golf cart in a race...loved your post title....was ready to defend Mustard, incase it was a condiment war....I added some more music to my magic playlist, Mother's Finest, Lakeside and REM ( don't judge, I'm an 80's UGA grad)

Great job on those run splits! I'm glad to hear that your knee is getting better. How are you going to celebrate your graduation?

Way to go on the splits . . . those times are impressive to ME! And if you're looking to win a Slacker award, well, get in line behind me. And probably lots of other folks who we don't know about cause they're too busy slacking.

We all play mia bloger at some point :) As for the gym, I too have one of those passes, I go at least 2-3 times a week, so I even out the running, it MAKES me use the other parts of my body, and I work them hard. Then when I run the next day, I am so happy to be outside running :)

Don't think of it as slacking, think of it as having a life :)
We'll still be here...

Congrats on your great pace!!
