Great News

Physical Therapy appointment went as well as I had hoped. Without getting too medical technical, I have a groin strain, inflammation of that area and nearby areas, and a messed up body alignment. Today he was pulling my left leg to even it out with my right and twisting and turning both my legs. I'm scheduled for PT 3 days a week for the next two weeks, then will probably be able to cut back to twice a week. This is what I'll be doing (Of course once again I can't get the link to work) http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/sprainsstrains/a/groinstrain_2.htm I'm taking motrin for the inflammation, and was told not to run until further notice. Of course I'm also not stretching like I'm supposed to, so that contributed to this happening. My next appointment is this Friday, so I guess I'll take it one day at a time, follow his instructions, and get well enough to run as soon as possible. It's times like this that make me even more appreciative of when I can run. I'm extremely happy that I don't have a hernia or anything seriously wrong. Plus I'm sure I'll be even better than ever when this is over. Only disappointing thing was I wish I had gotten the hot girl for my PT. Although having hot girl for PT probably would have been counterproductive since I probably would have been too distracted to focus on my task at hand. Oh well! I don't have any excuses not to go catch up on reading your blogs...so off I go to bloggerland.

Awesome news! Yes stretching IS important... it's partially responsible for my tendinitis last year.

Sorry you didn't get Hot Girl for your therapist lol.

And when you are all fixed make sure you continue to stretch. I will be watching and bugging you :)

Take care.

HEY, when I say I have a Cutie Pie PT, it sounds okay but you cannot wish for the Hot Girl...it just doesn't sound okay. You need to FOCUS on your healing! I guess that old double standard is rearing it's old head, sorry!
Hope you get some rest and continue to heal up quickly. Have fun blogging!

ps: I wish I could control the weather... It's just cold up here :( Wish there was snow to go with it!

Good news! Keep up the stretching routine. It has been crucial in rehabilitating my knee after the tendonitis that I had 2 years ago.

Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Groin strain?!? Ugh...sounds brutal. I'm glad you had good news though. Do your stretches so that you can get back to running!

Good news!

Do you use a foam roller or the "stick"? I cannot live without them - check them out.

I am the worst offender of stretching so feel your pain there. I've been doing more lately and wow, what a difference! Hang in there...and so sorry the hot girl was mia. ha.

I loved your comments your left today about the PT treatments forcing you to think about power/force. That's exactly what mine have done for me. Could it be because we're in the over 40 crowd? Yeah, I can't wait to meet you in BAWSTON, we'll all have to organize a rave so we can meet while we're there!
