I know stretch daily and while it's not the most comfortable thing, I know it will make me a better runner, not to mention that it's just plain good for our bodies.

I hope you are better soon. Definitely get to the PT though. I can'tr run yet but I will dedicate some elliptical and spin classes to you.

Funny that you should ask for some dedication runs. I was thinking about all my bloggy friends this weekend while I was pushing my limits on the bike.

Definitely join a running group. I'd like to as well if I could only find one.

Heal well!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00082536183912603694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2242745025604729802.post-48565145702943931382010-02-07T23:21:00.906-05:002010-02-07T23:21:00.906-05:00Well I'm just gonna pick some songs from your ...Well I'm just gonna pick some songs from your playlist, cue 'em on up and dedicate tomorrow's run. It's got your name all over it. Be well.

I never ever stretch before during or after a run, but have been doing lots of yoga. I hope it counts.Bootchezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07300148137044133865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2242745025604729802.post-24153094314262548802010-02-07T20:28:45.455-05:002010-02-07T20:28:45.455-05:00WOW!! The last few sentences of your post were really compelling to me....posting it as my status on FB and using it for motivation to run outside everyday this week....(even if it is cold)...Leeleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14453207763870313399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2242745025604729802.post-82795885281211270362010-02-07T18:15:34.151-05:002010-02-07T18:15:34.151-05:00Surprise, surprise, I listened to my coach's ...Surprise, surprise, I listened to my coach's advice and didn't force a run that was supposed to be long and hilly. Usually, I'd go out and charge it but for the past week, I've had a brain tweak and just went out to do the miles, not caring about anything else. It was definitely one of the most enjoyable runs I've had lately. Hmmm...I guess listening to the smart people's advice helps and hey, I'M NOT one of those smart people, by the way. I just pass on the info. Right? Thanks for the support, we're all here for each other and that's WHY we blog! Have a nice week!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00129091073767399081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2242745025604729802.post-90064088181161970642010-02-07T17:32:50.457-05:002010-02-07T17:32:50.457-05:00oh gahh that physics lesson is following me around...oh gahh that physics lesson is following me around! ;)

i am actually thinking of cutting back from marathons/marathon training soon... maybe in the summer or maybe for 2011. there's nothing wrong with training for shorter races / running for general fitness.

i'm awful at stretching... i'll log my miles but it's just "too much effort" for me to lean over and stretch. good luck getting in that habit!Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17720800873803974929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2242745025604729802.post-40280871299848054752010-02-07T14:41:00.756-05:002010-02-07T14:41:00.756-05:00Rick,
I dedicated my run this afternoon to you an...Rick,

I dedicated my run this afternoon to you and everyone else out there who is injured and unable to run as they would like or at all. I know the situation all too well. When I developed plantar fasciitis a few years back, I had to go to PT for six months and I was not allowed to run --- at all. As hokey as it sounds, I took running for granted. When I was no longer able to do it, I learned to look at it much more differently. My times will probably never be as good as they were before my injury, and sometimes that bothers me still, but I am thankful every day that I can get out there and run regardless. Hang in there! I hope that PT helps, and you're able to get back to running as you would like. And I definitely recommend joining a running group/club. My club got me through the tough times coming back from injury. Good luck!Erin Conleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12560914834163706133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2242745025604729802.post-9920098761710385612010-02-07T14:19:38.228-05:002010-02-07T14:19:38.228-05:00I definitely thought of you when I ran this mornin...I definitely thought of you when I ran this morning!!! To be honest, I think I always give a thought to all those who can't run... I'm always thankful that my legs can take me where I want them to :)

Good luck with the stretching... joining a gym may not be such a bad idea, you'll get to do some cross-training too!Anaishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06224896416031363566noreply@blogger.com
